This example was done on an Exchange 2007 Server:

This process will repair an Exchange Store that will not mount.

Open a command prompt and change to the “Exchange Server\bin” directory for Exchange 2007 or “exchsrv\bin” directory for Exchange 2000/2003.

Use the eseutil /p “Path to Mailbox Store.edb” command to repair the Exchange Database.

Click OK on the Warning

Once the Repair finishes. Use the ISINTEG command to check for errors.

Example Command: ISINTEG –s ServerName –fix –test alltests

Verify that the Test completes without Errors. Run another Exchange Defrag on the Database then Test it again with ISINTEG.

Once there are no errors. Mount the Exchange Store.

This example was done on an Exchange 2007 Server:

An Exchange Defrag will require 110% free diskspace associated with the Exchange database size.

Dismount the Store that will be defragged.

Open a command prompt and change to the “Exchange Server\bin” directory for Exchange 2007 or “exchsrv\bin” directory for Exchange 2000/2003.

Use the eseutil /d “Path to Mailbox Store.edb” command to defrag the Exchange Database.

An Exchange Store Defrag could take several hours depending on the size of the Database.

After the Defrag has finished use the ISINTEG Command to verify that the Exchange Database does not have errors.

Example Command: ISINTEG –S ServerName –test alltests

Select the Database and Press Enter

Verify that the Test completes without Errors. If it does, Mount the Exchange Store. If the Test completes with errors. Rerun the test with the –fix command option.

Verify that the Test completes without Errors. Run another Exchange Defrag on the Database then Test it again with ISINTEG.

Once there are no errors. Mount the Exchange Store.
