Backup Exec Remote Agent is installed on Exchange 2007 Server. (Remote Agent version must match Backup Exec version)
MS Exchange 2007 Management Tools are installed on the Backup Exec Server.
MS Exchange Server MAPI Client is installed on Exchange 2007 Server. (Ver 1.2.1 or higher http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e17e7f31-079a-43a9-bff2-0a110307611e&DisplayLang=en)
Backup Exec “Logon Account” is a member of Domain Admins and is a Local Admin on the Exchange 2007 server.
Backup Exec “Logon Account” must also have the “Exchange Server Admin Role” assigned from the Exchange Management Console.
Backup Exec “Logon Account” must have an Exchange Mailbox that is not disabled or hidden from the Global Address List.
Verify “Logon Account” Exchange Mailbox access
From the Exchange 2007 Server open Regedit.
HKLM\Software\Symantec\Backup Exec For Windows\Backup Exec\Engine\ESE
Create a new DWORD Value named “E2K7_MBox”
Assign a value of “1”
Restart the Backup Exec Remote Agent Service on the Exchange 2007 Server.
From BackupExec: Select Tools – Options – Microsoft Exchange – Select “Enable Legacy mailbox support” – Click OK
Select Backup Tab – Browse to the Exchange 2007 Server – Select “Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes” – Verify that the mailboxes are listed.
Click Cancel.
Remove the “Enable Legacy Mailbox Support” checkbox.
Remove the registry value “E2K7_MBox” from the Exchange 2007 server.
Restart the Backup Exec Remote Agent Service on the Exchange 2007 Server.
Configure an Exchange Information Store backup job.
