Restart the Server – Press F8 – Enter Directory Services Restore Mode
Log into the server
Open a Command Prompt and change to the C:\Windows\ntds directory
Use the “List Instances” command to display the Active Directory Instance Name
In this example it is NTDS
Enter the command “Activate Instance NTDS”
Enter the command “Files”

Enter the command “Integrity” to check the database integrity

To run a semantic database analysis:
Enter the command “Semantic Database Analysis”

Enter the command “Go”
Review the dsdit.dmp.x file for errors

If errors were found
Enter the command “Go Fix” to try to repair those errors

Reboot the Domain Controller
